Most avocado oil disputes come from things that were never written down. This checklist covers what a buyer and Konza Tropicals agree before the first order, so that the offer, the certificate of analysis and the shipment all describe the same product.
Grade and attributes
- Crude avocado oil for refining, or extra virgin avocado oil for direct culinary or cosmetic use. These are different products.
- Conventional or organic. Organic status applies only to the specific lot and its certification, and extra virgin and organic are separate attributes: an oil can be either, both or neither.
- Intended application, so that the parameters that matter to you are the ones in the band.
Parameter band and samples
Agree the band for the parameters your use requires, typically free fatty acid, peroxide value, moisture and impurities, plus any colour, flavour or contaminant requirements. Test samples in your laboratory before contracting. Agree the sampling method, retained samples and the retest procedure.
Certificate of analysis and external testing
Konza Tropicals provides an internal certificate of analysis for each avocado oil lot. External laboratory testing or buyer testing can also be arranged according to agreed requirements.
Packing and lot size
Flexitank, drums or IBCs, agreed per order to suit your handling, together with lot size, number of lots per shipment and labelling of each container or drum.
Documents and compliance
- Commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading.
- Certificate of origin or proof of origin where your importer requires it.
- Product and labelling information for your own food safety or cosmetic compliance checks.
- Organic certificates and import documentation where an organic lot is offered.
- The preloading quality control report.
Incoterm, schedule and payment
Agree the Incoterm and destination, the shipment schedule against your intake plan, and payment terms. Transit depends on routing and carrier schedules and is confirmed per booking.
Quality control and claims
Every shipment undergoes preloading quality control at origin. Fruit Quality Studio Africa is our appointed independent quality control partner for preloading inspections at origin, and the preloading report is shared with the buyer. Arrival inspection is coordinated between Konza Tropicals and the buyer. Agree the tolerances and the claims procedure in the contract so that any arrival issue is handled against a written standard.
What Konza Tropicals supplies
Konza Tropicals supplies crude and extra virgin avocado oil in bulk, with conventional and organic options as applicable to the offered lot. The oil is supplied for the buyer's own refining, processing or filling.
