Questions buyers ask
Before you request an offer
What is the minimum order for dried chillies?
From one pallet for whole, crushed or powder for a first order; container programmes of 20 ft and 40 ft for regular supply. Samples are couriered before you confirm a lot.
Which dried chilli varieties do you export from Kenya?
African bird's eye (piri piri) and cayenne as standard, whole, crushed or powder. Other varieties, including habanero, can be dried to order for programme volumes.
What moisture and quality specification do you work to?
Whole dried chillies below 12 percent moisture, sorted by colour and length with foreign matter removed. Residue, aflatoxin and microbiology tests are available per lot from an accredited laboratory.
Can you meet EU and UK pesticide residue limits?
Yes. Spray programmes on the partner farms are managed to EU and UK MRLs and residue test results can be supplied per lot.
How are dried chillies shipped from Kenya?
By sea from Mombasa in 20 ft and 40 ft dry containers, or by air from Nairobi for samples, trial orders and urgent lots. Transit to Europe is about 25 to 30 days by sea.
Do you also supply fresh chillies?
Yes. Fresh bird's eye, habanero, cayenne and jalapeño chillies are air freighted with our fresh herbs within 24 to 48 hours of harvest. See the fresh herbs and chillies page.

Our partners
Independent quality control and transparent trade, built into every shipment
Two partners work alongside our own team on every export programme, so buyers see the fruit before it sails and know the price before they commit.

Fruit Quality Studio Africa
Independent avocado quality control, the Kenyan arm of Quality Studio Europe. Every consignment is inspected at the packhouse before loading, with a preloading QC report on dry matter, defects, sizing and pulp temperature shared with the buyer, and arrival inspection in Europe on request or as agreed per programme.

SAFTA, Fruit Trade Assistance: Sales Execution Office, Antwerp
Our partner Sales Execution Office in Antwerp, Belgium. SAFTA is not a buyer of our fruit: it sells Konza Tropicals avocados on our behalf to retailers, importers and ripeners across Europe and executes each programme from offer to payment, with fixed and transparent pricing, programme contracts, cold chain from packhouse to destination and SAFTA Rescue support for shipments in European ports, so growers and importers both know where they stand.
