Export markets

Kenyan avocado exporter to Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland

Scandinavians eat more avocados per person than almost anyone else in Europe, and Nordic retailers ask harder questions about water, carbon, labour and farm gate prices than any other buyers we serve. We supply importers, ripeners and retail programmes in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland with Class 1 Hass and Green skin avocados through Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Aarhus, Oslo and Helsinki or via Rotterdam, together with avocado oil, dried fruit and macadamia for Nordic food and natural cosmetic brands, and we document the sustainability story behind every pallet.

Buyers

Built for Nordic retailers, importers and sustainability teams

Nordic buyers combine high per capita consumption with demanding retailer standards: GRASP or SMETA social audits, residue limits below the EU maximum, questions about water use and deforestation, and a preference for suppliers who pay growers fairly. Our orchards are rain fed agroforestry systems in the Rift Valley, we pay farm gate for every grade of fruit and process oil grade fruit rather than waste it, and our sustainability page sets out how we grow and trade. Independent preloading inspection on every consignment and SAFTA, Fruit Trade Assistance, our partner Sales Execution Office in Antwerp, Belgium, give Nordic buyers the quality data and price transparency they expect.

Questions buyers ask

Before you request an offer for the Nordic region

What sustainability information can you provide for Nordic retailers?

Farm level information on rain fed agroforestry orchards, water and input use, farm gate pricing for every grade, free harvesting for partner growers and residue use, plus GRASP or SMETA audit reports on programme volumes. Our sustainability page summarises how we grow and trade.

Should we ship direct to Gothenburg or via Rotterdam?

Direct arrivals avoid handling but add transit days via transshipment; Rotterdam offers weekly departures, ripening capacity and two to three days to Scandinavia by truck or feeder. We quote both so you can compare arrival day and landed cost.

Is Kenyan fruit duty free in Norway?

Norway is outside the EU customs union, so the EU EPA does not apply; Norwegian tariffs and preference schemes are confirmed by your broker per tariff line, and we issue the certificate of origin required.

Can you supply organic avocados to the Nordics?

An EU organic option is available on programme volumes from certified partner orchards; tell us the volumes and weeks and we confirm the certified supply.

How do we see the quality before the container sails?

Fruit Quality Studio Africa, the Kenyan arm of Quality Studio Europe, inspects every consignment at the packhouse and issues a preloading QC report on dry matter, defects, sizing and pulp temperature, which we share with you before the vessel departs.

Can you start with a trial order?

Yes. Most programmes for the Nordic region begin with one container to Gothenburg, or a pallet by air for herbs, chillies and samples, before moving to fortnightly or weekly programme volumes.

Our partners

Independent quality control and transparent trade, built into every shipment

Two partners work alongside our own team on every export programme, so buyers see the fruit before it sails and know the price before they commit.

Fruit Quality Studio Africa

Every consignment is inspected at the packhouse before loading, with a preloading QC report on dry matter, defects, sizing and pulp temperature shared with the buyer, and arrival inspection in Europe on request or as agreed per programme.

SAFTA, Fruit Trade Assistance: Sales Execution Office, Antwerp

Our partner Sales Execution Office in Antwerp, Belgium. SAFTA is not a buyer of our fruit: it sells Konza Tropicals avocados on our behalf to retailers, importers and ripeners across Europe and executes each programme from offer to payment, with fixed and transparent pricing, programme contracts, cold chain from packhouse to destination and SAFTA Rescue support for shipments in European ports, so growers and importers both know where they stand.
