Grown by us
For avocados, we grow our own fruit on commercial plantations
Unlike traders who buy at the roadside, the Hass and Green skin avocados we export start on our own 200 hectare commercial plantations in the Rift Valley of Kenya. We plant the trees, manage the agronomy, test dry matter in the field, harvest with our own crews and pack under our own programme, so the fruit in the container is fruit we have known since it was a flower. Partner orchards across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi add more than 3,000 hectares and extend the season to 52 weeks.

Independent avocado quality control, the Kenyan arm of Quality Studio Europe. Every consignment is inspected at the packhouse before loading, with a preloading QC report on dry matter, defects, sizing and pulp temperature shared with the buyer, and arrival inspections on request in Europe.

Visit the orchards, packhouses and people behind the fruit
Buyers, investors, students and travellers are welcome to see East African horticulture at work. A Konza Tropicals farm visit takes you through our Hass avocado plantations in the Rift Valley, a working packhouse and cold store, and a tasting of the season's fruit, with the agronomists and export team who run them. Visits are arranged with our sister company Volcan Tours and Travel, a Nairobi based safari operator, so an orchard morning combines easily with the Great Rift Valley lakes, Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, Hell's Gate, the Masai Mara or Amboseli.

Do you grow your own avocados or buy from farmers?
Both, in that order. Our Hass and Green skin avocados come first from our own 200 hectare commercial plantations in the Rift Valley of Kenya, then from audited partner orchards in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi that extend the season to the whole year.
Which products can you supply and when?
Hass and Green skin avocados, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, coconut, fresh herbs and chillies, dried and freeze dried fruit, frozen avocado, macadamia nuts, purees and concentrates, and crude, extra virgin and refined avocado oil. All products are available throughout the year from Kenya and East Africa; the season calendar on the exports page shows the peaks.
How do you control quality before a container sails?
Dry matter is tested before harvest and pulp temperature before loading by our own team, and Fruit Quality Studio Africa inspects every consignment at the packhouse and issues a preloading QC report that the buyer receives before departure.
What does the consultancy division do?
Export readiness assessments, licensing and certification (GLOBALG.A.P., GRASP, organic, HACCP, BRCGS), market intelligence and buyer databases, B2B matchmaking at trade fairs, commercial advisory, trade finance and investment planning, and training for exporters, processors and development programmes across East Africa.
Where do you ship to?
Europe, the GCC and Middle East, Turkey, India, China, Far East Asia and North America, by sea from Mombasa and Dar es Salaam and by air from Nairobi.
