Kenyan Hass avocado exporter to Israel

Israel grows excellent avocados from September to April and imports in the summer gap. Kenya's main Hass season from April to September fills that window exactly, which makes Kenyan Hass the natural counter season supply for Israeli packers, retail chains and processors, shipped to Ashdod and Haifa in about two weeks or flown to Tel Aviv overnight.

Counter season supply for Israeli packers and processors

Israeli avocado packers know the fruit better than anyone, so they look for the same things we measure on our own plantations: dry matter, size distribution, clean skins and cold chain discipline. Beyond avocados we supply Israeli importers with mango, pineapple and passion fruit, fresh herbs by air, and avocado oil, frozen avocado and macadamia for processors and brands.

Questions buyers ask

Before you request an offer for Israel

When does Israel import Kenyan avocados?

Mainly from May to September, when Israeli orchards are between seasons. Kenyan Hass peaks in exactly those months, so supply is at its best when Israel needs it.

How long is the sea voyage from Mombasa to Ashdod?

Twelve to sixteen days when vessels route through the Red Sea and Suez. If carriers route around the Cape we adjust harvest maturity and use controlled atmosphere containers to protect the fruit.

Can Israeli packers specify the dry matter and sizes?

Yes. We harvest to the buyer's specification, typically 24% dry matter and above with a size distribution agreed before harvest, and confirm it on the preloading QC report.

Do you supply frozen avocado and avocado oil to Israel?

Yes. IQF halves, chunks and pulp and crude or extra virgin avocado oil ship from Kenya all year in reefer and dry containers.

How do we see the quality before the container sails?

Fruit Quality Studio Africa, the Kenyan arm of Quality Studio Europe, inspects every consignment at the packhouse and issues a preloading QC report on dry matter, defects, sizing and pulp temperature, which we share with you before the vessel departs.

Can you start with a trial order?

Yes. Most programmes begin with one container, or a pallet by air for herbs, chillies and samples, before moving to weekly or fortnightly programme volumes.
