Kenyan avocados and avocado oil for importers in Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe

Turkey and the Black Sea region are a fast growing destination for Kenyan Hass and Green skin avocados, and a market for our avocado oil, macadamia and dried fruit. This page sets out what we supply, the documents each market needs, and indicative logistics. By destination

Access conditions, documents and logistics

TurkeyFresh avocados enter under the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry plant health rules with a KEPHIS phytosanitary certificate, commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin; the importer holds the import permit. Sea freight Mombasa to Mersin or Istanbul (Ambarlı) is typically 18 to 28 days via transhipment; air freight Nairobi to Istanbul daily. Turkish refiners and packers also buy crude and refined avocado oil in flexitanks.
RussiaKenya is an established avocado origin for Russian importers. Consignments need a KEPHIS phytosanitary certificate, certificate of origin and documents for Rosselkhoznadzor inspection at Novorossiysk or St Petersburg; sea transit 25 to 40 days via transhipment. Payment routing and documentation are agreed case by case in line with current banking and compliance requirements.
UkraineSupply to Ukrainian importers is routed through EU ports (Constanța, Gdańsk, Koper) with onward road transport, under EU transit and Ukrainian phytosanitary requirements. Routing and timing are confirmed per shipment according to current conditions.
Eastern and Central Europe (EU members)Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechia and the Baltic states import under EU rules: Kenyan fruit enters duty free under the Kenya and EU Economic Partnership Agreement with an EUR.1 or origin declaration, and arrives via Rotterdam, Koper, Constanța or Gdańsk. Testing and qualityDry matter tested before harvest, pulp temperature checked before loading and an independent preloading inspection report on every avocado consignment; residue testing against the destination's limits on request. Oil lots carry a batch certificate of analysis.
Trial order and paymentTypical first order: one 40 ft reefer of avocados or one 20 ft container of oil. First shipments are normally on letter of credit or part prepayment; programme terms follow. Samples by courier within one week.
