Since 2022 most of Ukraine's fresh produce imports have entered through Poland, Romania and other EU neighbours rather than the Black Sea ports. We plan each Ukrainian programme around that reality: discharge in Gdańsk, Gdynia or Constanța, customs transit to the border, Ukrainian import clearance by your broker, and a cold chain that is monitored through the road leg. Independent preloading inspection on every consignment gives you the quality data before the fruit leaves Kenya, and SAFTA, Fruit Trade Assistance, our partner Sales Execution Office in Antwerp, Belgium, supports fixed price programmes and in port assistance in the EU.

Kenyan Hass peaks from April to August and Tanzanian Hass from November to March, so Hass is available in most months from our East African origins, with lean periods between the Kenyan and Tanzanian seasons; pineapple, passion fruit, herbs and all value added products ship all year.

Before you request an offer for Ukraine
How do you deliver to Ukraine while Black Sea ports are restricted?
Containers discharge in Gdańsk, Gdynia or Constanța and move under EU customs transit by refrigerated truck to the Ukrainian border, where your broker clears the goods. We plan the vessel and truck legs together so the fruit arrives with ripening time to spare.
What payment terms do you offer Ukrainian buyers?
Prepayment, confirmed letter of credit or documentary collection for new buyers, and fixed price programme structures through SAFTA for repeat buyers. We discuss terms openly before the first offer.
Is Kenyan fruit duty free in Ukraine?
Kenya and Ukraine have no preferential trade agreement, so Ukrainian most favoured nation duty and VAT apply; your customs broker confirms the rates per tariff line. Transit through the EU is duty free under T1.
Can you supply dried fruit and avocado oil instead of fresh if the route is slow?
Yes. Dried and freeze dried fruit, macadamia and avocado oil travel at ambient temperature with long shelf life, which suits longer or uncertain routing, and they can share a container.
How do we see the quality before the container sails?
Fruit Quality Studio Africa, the Kenyan arm of Quality Studio Europe, inspects every consignment at the packhouse and issues a preloading QC report on dry matter, defects, sizing and pulp temperature, which we share with you before the vessel departs.
Can you start with a trial order?
Yes. Most programmes for Ukraine begin with one container to Gdańsk, or a pallet by air for herbs, chillies and samples, before moving to fortnightly or weekly programme volumes.

SAFTA is not a buyer of our fruit: it sells Konza Tropicals avocados on our behalf to retailers, importers and ripeners across Europe and executes each programme from offer to payment, with fixed and transparent pricing, programme contracts, cold chain from packhouse to destination and SAFTA Rescue support for shipments in European ports, so growers and importers both know where they stand.
